Finding the Deep River Within, 2016
The Ongoing Challenge of Self-Care in a Plugged-In World.
with Abby Seixas, M.Ed., LMHC.
May 7, 2016, Brattleboro, Vermont,
at the Synthesis Center’s Annual Spring Conference.
2016 marks the 10th anniversary of the publication of Abby’s book, Finding the Deep River Within: A Woman’s Guide to Recovering Balance and Meaning in Everyday Life. The book is about how to slow down and remember who we are in a faster-is-better, distraction-rich culture.
So, how are we doing in 2016––individually and collectively––with slowing down and allowing the deeper currents within us to flow through daily life?
In this 1.25-hour workshop, Abby will review the 6 core practices of the Deep River process, and open a reflection and conversation about what it takes––in today’s culture of speed, interruption and distraction––to listen inwardly, to tap our deepest wisdom and compassion, and to bring those gifts to a hurting world.
