Slowing Down and Turning Within
Six Practices to Restore Balance and Meaning in Your Life.
with Deep River facilitator Linda Merwin.
4 Tuesdays, April 26 through 17th. 7-9 p.m.
at the Center for Parents and Teachers,
Concord, Massachusetts.
This series will take a close look at the busyness of our lives, which has become our societal norm. Speed has been translated into a virtue. Contrast these modern beliefs about time with ancient Greek philosophers who opined that living a life of leisure was the highest aim of a human being; that true leisure refreshes the soul. In this four part workshop, “Slowing Down and Turning Within” will challenge the assumption that faster is better and provide practical ways to shape your life into what you would like it to be. Bringing balance and a mindful presence into one’s life as a parent increases family health and resilience in a culture chock full of stressors.
The workshop facilitator, Linda Merwin, is a trained life coach and Deep River facilitator. She has facilitated multiple worshops over the years, such as Finding One’s Life Calling, and The Artist’s Way, by Julia Cameron. Linda is also a mom of two college-aged soms who remembers well the juggling act of raising a family, working part-time and finding time to care for herself.
Your workshop fee will go to support the work of the Center for Parents and Teachers, a 28 year old tax-exempt nonprofit that is a vital resource in the town of Concord. The fee includes the cost of a paperback copy of Finding the Deep River Within. Be in touch if the fee presents a problem for you, as we want all who are interested to be able to attend.
